According to foreign media reports, Ricardo (Ricardo) UK announced that it has cooperated with Ilikatechnologies, UK Technology Innovation Center-Centre for Process Innovation, Honda R&DE Europe and University College London (University College) to carry out the PowerDriveLine project.

The 30-month collaboration will develop lithium-based solid-state Stereaxä batteries for plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles, establish a pilot line for solid-state batteries, and develop processes for the solid-state battery material supply chain. This innovative solid-state battery technology will result in safer, more energy-efficient and power-dense batteries, enabling ultra-fast charging (enabling plug-in hybrids and pure electric vehicles to be fully charged in 25 minutes).

Ricardo will design and manufacture prototype battery modules and will also apply its industry-leading expertise in battery management system (BMS) technology for electric vehicles. Combined with high processing power and control over battery modules, Ricardo's method is well suited for evaluating novel battery chemistries, where careful monitoring and tight control of all aspects of cell and pack performance are essential for effective battery development and evaluation .(Lithium - Ion Battery Equipment)

In addition, Ricardo will further develop its battery management system so that it can accommodate solid-state lithium-ion batteries with a charging power of 50 to 350 kW for ultra-fast and ultra-fast charging.

Martin Tolliday, Head of Ricardo Passenger Cars and Motorcycle Markets, said: "Ricardo is delighted to be working with Ilika, CentreforProcessInnovation and University College London on an important project for future electric vehicles. Compatible with existing electric vehicle batteries Solid-state lithium-ion battery technology has significant potential for improvement in performance and safety compared to advanced technology, and its weight is lighter and its size is more compact. If successfully developed, solid-state battery systems will appear in the electric vehicle and plug-in hybrid vehicle markets Transformative impact, making road transport faster and more efficient with a reduced carbon footprint."
